The Izumo is the highest quality fountain pen in the Platinum family. Its particularly large shape and its Urushi finish show the entire skill of the fountain pen manufacturer.
The special edition of the Izumo Galaxy is a mastery of the Maki-e technique: the finest pieces of mother-of-pearl are embedded in several layers of urushi lacquer. This process takes a total of 6 months, including all steps such as drying, polishing and repainting. The end result is a jewel of a fountain pen full of shine in all mother-of-pearl colors.
