Pilot Custom 823 fountain pen

The Custom 823 from Pilot is the only fountain pen in the Custom series that isn't filled with cartridges. Although Pilot itself calls it a piston fountain pen, it's actually a vacuum filler: A screw thread is hidden at the end of the cap, which is opened to remove the sealing rod. When the pen is dipped into the inkwell, this sealing rod is pushed back down, filling the fountain pen. The advantage is a fairly large ink reservoir of 1.5 ml, which is roughly equivalent to the contents of two standard cartridges.

This completely transparent version is a must for lovers of demonstrator fountain pens.

The 14 kt gold nib in size No. 15 writes very softly and is therefore pleasant, especially for frequent writers.
