Chibien translates as "little pencil": This cool brass ballpoint pen from Tetzbo looks like a freshly sharpened pencil and was handcrafted by artist and blacksmith Yoshikazu Takai.
The ballpoint pen develops a patina over time due to the brass. It is 99 mm long and has a diameter of 9 mm. It weighs approximately 33 g. It is filled with a black 0.7 mm SXR-80-07 refill. The CHIBIEN 8 is therefore slightly smaller and wider than the CHIBIEN 7.
Tetzbo was founded by Japanese artist Yoshikazu Takai. Originally a sculptor, his sculptures can be found in public spaces throughout Japan. From large-scale sculptures, he turned to fine stationery. His incredibly beautiful and unique pens reflect his sculptural background, yet retain the depth and complexity one would expect from his work.
