With the fourth generation of Veilio, Sailor once again demonstrates why this series plays a special role within its own product range.
The name "Veilio" is composed of Veil and Iro (color). And that's exactly what it's about: colors that don't simply lie on the material, but seem to float in the transparent acrylic. The result is fountain pens that you inevitably pick up again and again to take a closer look at the marbling.
The fourth generation consists of two very different models.
Pearl Black is the more restrained variant. Dark gray and black tones meet transparent areas, creating an elegant, almost mysterious look.
Blue Purple, on the other hand, only partially lives up to its name. Those expecting a classic blue-violet fountain pen here might be surprised at first glance. In fact, the material in many examples appears significantly more turquoise and is more reminiscent of Caribbean waters than a rich violet. A somewhat misleading name, then – but an exceptionally beautiful fountain pen.
And there's another difference between the two models: Only the Blue Purple contains fine glitter particles in the material. This makes it not only the first Veilio with a glitter effect, but also places it among Sailor pens that use this very subtly. The Veilio Pearl Black, on the other hand, relies entirely on the effect of its marbling and pearl effect and does without glitter.
Technically, both models remain true to the proven Veilio concept. They combine the large 21-karat gold nib of the Professional Gear with a slightly more compact format, creating a combination that is unique to this series at Sailor.
And as always: No two Veilios are alike. The marbling is created directly in the material, making each fountain pen a small one-of-a-kind piece.
