This Sailor ink set contains four inks from the fourth Manyo Ink series: Sumomo, Nagi, Budo, and Kuri. Each jar contains 20 ml.
The inks depict various foods associated with Japanese culture and history:
- Sumomo is a Japanese plum. Sumomo trees bloom before the cherry blossoms in Japan, which is considered a harbinger of spring.
- Nagi is a grass that grows in rice paddies and produces small, blue-violet flowers in late summer. The stem parts have long been used as food.
- Budo , wild grapes that were eaten in the Heian period and also used for dyeing.
- Kuri is a chestnut. If three nuts were found in a chestnut, this was considered a sign for parents and child.
