Sailor is taking a completely new approach with the Cylint fountain pen: with a steel body. This is refined in a special process in which the black color is only applied in a wafer-thin layer, in contrast to other coatings or even paintwork. The shine of the stainless steel is retained and the black of the surface appears almost transparent. Due to the material, the fountain pen is relatively heavy at 37 g.

This design is rounded off with rhutenized metal elements such as cap ring and clip. The 21 kt nib is also rhutenized and therefore blackish. This nib is significantly softer and more flexible than conventional 14 or 18 kt nibs. The fountain pen is filled with cartridges, although only Sailor cartridges can be used.

The fountain pen is shipped in a gift box containing a care cloth, Sailor cartridges and a Sailor converter and a small leather case for the fountain pen.
