The Colorverse penholder for the Shuttle Project nib. The design of the Shuttle penholder was inspired by the thrust that propels a space shuttle. It is available in four versions: brass or aluminum, and in a long or short version.
The long version is 165 mm long without the spring (187 mm with the Shuttle Project spring, weight brass 49.1 g and aluminum 22 g) and the short version is 142 mm long (weight brass 41 g and aluminum 19.5 g).
The materials used, brass and aluminum, are durable and feel very high-quality. The Shuttle pen is also very ergonomic, as it has a low center of gravity, allowing for writing without pressure.
What's unique is that the pen holder can be disassembled for more effective cleaning. This way, no ink or water remains in the metal nib insert, which would otherwise cause rust to form, as is typical with traditional wooden pen holders.
The insert is designed so that other calligraphy pens can also be used.
